'Classic' control domino league

Caribbean Classic maintained sole leadership in the CTL-sponsored Portmore/ St. Catherine domino league last Sunday when they defeated Correctional Services 300-285 in an away match at Prison Oval. Classic thus recorded their eighth win from as many matches to lead the standing with 40 points, three clear of Masterpiece with 37 from eight and the unbeaten Forte International, 35 from seven matches. Defending champions St. Joseph and Hurricane are tied in fifth with 32 points from eight matches, followed by Eradication 30 from eight and rounding off the top eight, Marliemount and Night Shift, both with 27 from seven matches. The top eight qualify for Division I at the end of the preliminary round. In other matches played last Sunday, Forte International drubbed Jahmix 300-252 in a home match at Passagefort, St. Joseph surprisingly crushed Eagle View 300-232 in a home match at Old Braeton, Eradication slammed Garveymeade 300-248 in another home match at Gregory Park and Right Stiff beat Colours International 300-274 at Cedar Grove Road. master touch Masterpiece kept in touch of the leaders with a 300-275 win over home team JUTC at Newland Road, Black Rooster defeated Brazil All-Stars 300-277 in a home match at McCook's Pen, Old Harbour United beat ISCF 300-262 at Police ground in Waterford, Hurricane stopped Lime Tree 300-290 in an away match at Lime Tree Grove, while Night Shift beat Ken's Wildflower 300-264 at Westchester and Marliemount flogged Frazer's Whip 300-286 in a home match in Old Harbour. Tomorrow's feature ninth round match pits defending champions St. Joseph against Forte International at St. Joseph, Old Braeton - a replay of last year's final. Hurricane will entertain unbeaten Caribbean Classic in another interesting match at Dunbeholden, both starting at 11:30 a.m.
