Defending champions St Joseph rebound

By Orville Clarke, PORTMORE STAR Writer

Defending champions St. Joseph rebounded from two recent defeats to beat Eradication 300-282 in the CTL-sponsored Portmore/St. Catherine domino league which marked its sixth round last Sunday.

Playing away at Gregory Park, St. Joseph made amends for recent losses to Lime Tree and Garveymeade by putting away the more formidable Eradication team by 18 points to remain in touch for a spot in the last eight.

In other matches played, Caribbean Classic, sole leaders in the competition, continued their dominance with a 300-284 win over home team Night Shift at Westchester, while unbeaten Fort International defeated homesters Eagle View 300-270 at Old Braeton.

Elsewhere, Hurricane clipped Garveymeade 300-298 in an exciting countdown at Garveymeade, ISCF stopped Frazer's Whip 300-290 in another countdown at Waterford, Masterpiece defeated Old Harbour United 300-276, Black Rooster outplayed home team Right Stiff 300-286 at Cedar Grove Road, while Correctional Services beat JUTC 300-275 at Prison Oval.

In the three remaining matches, home team Colours International clipped Ken's Wildflower 300-297 in a thrilling countdown at Port Henderson Plaza, Jahmix stopped Lime Tree 300-276 in a home match at Lakes Pen, while Brazil All-Stars threw in the towel against Marliemount in an away match in Old Harbour, trailing by over 50 points in the end.

The competition continues tomorrow with the usual 11 matches, starting at 11:30 a.m. Unbeaten leaders Caribbean Classic are at home to the improving ISCF at Portmore Lane.
