Top pool players compete in MoBay this weekend

 
The island's top players will journey to MoBay this weekend for the rich Heineken International open double elimination pool tournament (8-ball) at MoBay Proper, 44 Fort Street in the resort capital, starting at 3:00 p.m. both days.

The tournament, which takes place today and tomorrow, offers total prize money of $320,000, including a whopping first prize of $120,000 and trophy to the winner; $50,000 and trophy for second, $25,000 for third and fourth, and $15,000 each for players finishing from fifth to eighth place. The top female player will secure $10,000 and a trophy. Entry fee is $3,500 and to date, over 60 entries have been received.

Among the players expected to be on show are former winner Danny Ghocul from Guyana, MoBay's top player Noel 'Schoolboy' Blagrove. Roy Letts who has won the two most recent tournaments; Ewart Hall who is the top-ranked player so far this season by virtue of having won three ranking tournaments, as well Portmore's own Sunil 'Termite' Kissendal, Jody Mullings, Sunil 'Presto' Newman, Gary Manning, Elvis Newman, Dean Blackwood, Fernado Anderson, Orville Henry, Everett Austin, Nicholas 'King Fish' Linton, Jahrel Stephenson, Chris Sinclair along with female players Nicky Lawrence, Chyann Nicholls and Francine Cardoza.
