Regional flavour for Trinidad's Guineas

ARIMA, Trinidad, (CMC):

Jamaican jockey Allen Maragh and Barbadian Chris Husbands have secured mounts in this weekend's rich Carib Brewery Guineas horse race at Santa Rosa Park that is regionally flavoured.

Florida-based Maragh will partner Jamaica-bred Enchanted Alex and gifted Barbadian Husbands will take Achilles of Troy to the starting gates in the TT$315,000 (US$51,800) Guineas over 1800 metres on Saturday afternoon

Enchanted Alex, bred - Law of the Sea out of Doctor Bird - by HAM Stables Limited, won the St Ann's Stakes last December and was champion two-year-old filly for 2008.

Husbands, who brilliantly won the 2006 Royal Oak Trinidad Derby astride Sara's Music, rides Achilles of Troy for the Barbadian trainer William Clarke.
