Bank on Allora

With the Pick-9 having eluded punters at Caymans Park last Saturday, a payout in excess of $1.5 million looks a real possibility tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Super-6 starts anew with the guaranteed minimum of $750,0000. The Pick-9 will embrace races three to 11, the Super-6 from race six to 11.

Tomorrow being the annual Lotto Classic raceday, Supreme Ventures Limited has contributed $1.2 million to purses for all 11 races - most going to the five major sponsored races on the card.

We look at the Super-6 which gets under way in the sixth race for the Lotto 'Dream' Trophy, to be contested by 12 native-bred maiden three-year-old fillies over 1400 metres. In what looks an open affair, MYA'S GIRL, RUM DEAL, SHEISAMAHARANEE, ALLTHEBEST, RUNNING LOOSE and ONELITTLEWISH are the main hopefuls.

Careful consideration

After careful consideration, MYA'S GIRL, who finished second to APES HILL over 1200 metres on April 11, has the best form to recommend and, despite her below par effort when finishing sixth to CASHLEY on May 9, should rebound at the expense of SHEISAMAHARANEE (working well) and RUM DEAL.

POINT AND CLICK, who won his only race over the circular nine course by 14 lengths back in January, gets the nod over BIG BARGAIN, MY THUNDER and recent winner A TASTE OF ORILEYS in the seventh race over 1820 metres, while it should be the improving ALLORA (working well, Lasix administered) under two-time champion jockey Brian Harding to beat WESTERN GENIUS (fit) and RHOSA KLEBB in the eighth for maiden three-year-olds over 1400 metres.

Briefly, THE GREYT DOCTOR, who failed by a head to catch PLEASURE FLIGHT over 1500 metres on April 22, has trained well for the ninth race over the same distance and should win from STAR OF THE SEA and GABROUSHE.

The improving colt

Then, take the improving colt POSEIDON (Winston Griffiths up) to win the mile and quarter Lotto Classic ahead of the consistent HE'S REALLY OK and Trevor Simpson's mount THEREALPRINCE. And MAGNIFICO, now back to his happy hunting ground, should repeat his April 13 course win at a mile in the closing race.
