Melaine Walker Wins Gold in a New Olympic Record

 
Melanie Walker of Jamaica won the Gold Medal the women's 400M hurdles an new Olympic record of 52.64s. Walker's time was the fourth-fastest in the history of the event. Melaine Walker's medal brings Jamaica's tally of Gold Medals to four and total medals to seven.

After promising much, the Stephen Francis coach athlete, finally delivered and in style. This win should leave her previous coach K.C. Graham extremely pleased.

Melaine Walker burst on the scene in 1998 as a 200 Metres runner finishing 5th in the finals of World Junior Championships in 1998. In 2000, she came 3rd in the 400M hurdles at the World Junior Championships. That was start to the road to Gold that came to light today.
