# Oracabessa on the double

The Island Sports Trust Championships ended on Monday at the Eden Park Sports Complex with Oracabessa Primary securing the titles.

Oracabessa Primary won both boys and girls titles, beating Galina Primary in boys' basketball and upsetting unbeaten Mason Hall Primary in girls' football action.

A 37th-minute strike from Samantha Wallace gave the Oracabessa girls a 1-0 win over Mason Hall.

On the basketball court, Oracabessa squeezed out Galina Primary 11-7.

The awards ceremony followed immediately after the games.

Romario Shermon of Galina Primary won the Most Valuable Player award along with the prize for leading scorer in the basketball league.

Mason Hall Primary had two players share the leading scorer award, Tashana Scott and Nickalia Byfield with 13 goals apiece, in football. The award for Most Valuable Player went to Alecian Brown of Mount Angus Primary.

# Grand Lido Braco take on Iberostar

The Tropical Rhythms/Purified Water-sponsored all-island hotel netball competition continues this afternoon with the final preliminary round match.

Joint defending champions and 2006 champions Grand Lido Braco Resort and Spa host newcomers Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort. Match time is 4 p.m.

# Grand Lido Negril victorious

The 2008 SuperWorld SuperClubs inter-resort eight-a-side football competition, sponsored by the Wisynco Group, continued on Saturday with one match at the Port Rhoades Sports Club in Discovery Bay, St. Ann.

In the day's sole contest, last year's beaten finalists Starfish Trelawny lost their unbeaten record when they went down 1-0 to leaders Grand Lido Negril Resort and Spa.

# Colours crush Washington CC

Colours International, the firm favourites to lift this year's Christine Cummings Cup, crushed Washington CC by 166 runs in the Milo-sponsored Portmore Metropolitan U-15 Cricket League on Sunday at the Bridgeport sports ground.

Batting first, Colours International raced to 233-4 off their allotted 35 overs, with Jermaine Innis making an even 50, and national U-15 wicketkeeper Amandrah Morris making a solid 48. Christopher Campbell took 1-29 for Washington CC. In reply, Washington were blown away for 57. They were routed by the bowling exploits of Wayne Boyd with 2-3 and Michael Downer 2-5.

Also on Sunday at Waterford High School, Portsmouth defeated Waterford by eight wickets. Scores: Waterford 97 all out, Arsenio Josephs 24, Marlon Chambers 4-12, Adrian Riley 3-19. Portsmouth 99-2, Orville Thompson 46, Krastoffe Archibald 14 not out.

On Saturday at the Bridgeport sports ground, Ken's Wildflower beat Portsmouth by four wickets. Scores: Portsmouth 105, Orville Thompson 21, Sean Lodge 2-18. Ken's Wildflower 108-6, Lodge 21.

# Portmore U-17 Football League

The Pines Imaging Centre-sponsored Portmore Under-17 Football League continues tomorrow with 10 matches at five venues across the sunshine city.

The key encounter pits Dunbeholden against Rodwood at the Naggo Head playing field at 3:30 p.m.

Both teams are coming off wins. Dunbeholden edged Portsmouth 1-0 in the opening game of the season while Rodwood thrashed Braeton United 7-1 last Sunday.

The opening game at that venue (Naggo Head) at 1:30 p.m will see Naggo Head taking on Waterford.

Portmore United, fresh from their 1-0 win over former champs Naggo Head, play minnows Braeton United at 1:30 p.m. while two hours later, Independence City and Portsmouth will battle at Portsmouth playing field.

In other games, Caymanas Gardens Site D take on Greater Portmore (1:30 p.m.) and Garveymeade face Wanderers (3:30p.m.), both at Greater Portmore; Portmore Pines tackle Portmore Gardens (1:30 p.m.) and Hellshire United entertain Watson Grove (3:30 p.m.), both at Watson Grove; Christian Pen await Daytona (1:30 p.m.) and Cumberland are down to face Racing United at 3:30 p.m.

# Wanderers, Portsmouth final

Wanderers and Portsmouth will meet in next Saturday's final of the Senator Arthur Williams-sponsored Portmore U-15 Football League.

In last Saturday's semi-finals, Wanderers and Portsmouth registered 1-0 and 2-1 victories over Rodwood and Naggo Head respectively.

Portsmouth's victory came courtesy of strikes from Roshane Clarke and Donald Hinds.

# St Bess D1

The first-leg semi-finals of the St. Elizabeth Co-op Credit Union Division One football competition will be contested tomorrow.

In semi-final one, which will be the feature match-up, leaders Treasure Beach United, who completed the second round on 19 points and without a loss, will host fourth-placed Beacon Youth Club at New Town in Black River.

The day's second semi-final will pit second-placed New Holland against Northampton FC at the same venue.

The second legs will be played on July 13.

# Folly, Burnt Ground advance to final

Folly and Burnt Ground Kickers are through to the final of the St. Elizabeth FA Alpart Division Two football competition following contrasting wins in their semi-finals on Wednesday .

Folly thrashed Newcombe Valley 5-0 at the Lacovia Community Centre while Burnt Ground beat One Love 3-2 on penalties after regulation and extra time.

Denroy Witter scored twice (12th and 52nd minutes) while Jermaine Johnson (28th), Cleyen Witter (67th) and Norton Whiteley (30th) got the others for Folly.

The final will be played next Thursday at the Alpart Sports Club at Nain, St. Elizabeth. Match time 3:00 p.m.

# Hotel football

Sunset Beach Resort and Spa defeated Breezes Montego Bay 1-0 at the Albion football field in action from the JPS Western Hotel football competition.

The win pushed them into second place behind Half Moon Hotel.

Tryall Hotel, who are still in with a mathematical chance of advancing to next month's quarter-finals, defeated Iberostar Rose Hall Beach Resort 2-0 at the Orchard Housing Scheme complex.

Over at Drax Hall in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, Hedonism III became another victim of the unbeaten glamour team and Group C leaders Gran Bahia Principe, losing 3-1.
