Powell out

PHILADELPHIA :

Asafa Powell, the world's fastest man, has been ruled out of today's USA vs The World 4x100m clash at the 114th Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania, Franklin Field.

Jill M. Geer, United States of America Track & Field (USATF) director of communications, told a press conference that Powell will miss the meet because of an injury.

"Asafa's manager (Paul Doyle) said Powell will not be able to run at the meet because he is in Florida receiving treatment," she said.

Geer said they are disappointed that Powell will not be fit enough to face American Tyson Gay in today's relay.
