# Gayle face New Bowens

Two matches will be played today in the Captain's Bakery's Clarendon Football Association Major League.

Gayle face New Bowens at Gayle and Sanguinetti tackle Monymusk at Edwin Allen.

In tomorrow's matches, Humble Lion take on Name Brand at Effortville and Original Paisley face Toll Gate.

On Wednesday, Toll Gate play Humble Lion at Toll Gate and Monymusk take on Ebony Stars at Monymusk.

On Thursday, Wood Hall play Name Brand at Turners and New Longsville take on New Bowens.

# Primary football resumes

The league format of the INSPORTS/CB Chicken Primary Schools football resumes next Friday with 12 matches.

In the 11:00 a.m. encounters, Clan Carthy take on St. Aloysius at UTech, Excelsior face Golden Spring at Excelsior, North Street tackle Mona at UWI, Iris Gelly take on Tavares Gardens at Jessie Ripoll, New Providence play Hope Valley at New Providence and Rollington Town entertain Dupont at Breezy Castle.

In the 12:15 games, Rousseau go up against Grove at New Providence, Clifton travel to UTech to face Duhaney Park, Franklin Town await Constitution Hill at UWI, Tarrant are down to play St. Benedict's at Excelsior; Port Royal meet Half-Way Tree at Jessie Ripoll and Jones Town host St. Alban's at Breezy Castle.

# Portsmouth tackle Christian Pen

Red-hot Portsmouth take on defending champions Christian Pen in the opening match of the Colin Fagan-sponsored Portmore Division Two Knockout competition at the Portsmouth playing field tomorrow, kick-off time 1:00 p.m.

Though Christian Pen are the reigning champs, they come into the match as underdogs due to their awful record of one draw and two losses in league play. On the other hand, Portsmouth are on a roll, snatching four victories on the trot - their latest was two weeks ago when they clipped an improved Portmore Pines 1-0 on their home turf.

In the feature match of the day at 3:00 p.m., Daytona battle Braeton United.

Daytona should start as favourites but Braeton, who were demoted from the St. Catherine Division One last season, could pull a surprise.

# St Catherine KO

Action in the St. Catherine Co-Operative Credit Union Happy Sutherland KO resumes next Thursday.

The matches down are the two semi-finals at the Spanish Town Prison Oval.

Naggo Head face D.B. Bosovak in the opening game at 3:00 p.m. after which defending champions Portmore United tackle Bodles at 5:00 p.m.

The final will be played on January 17.

# Football coaching course in Mandeville

GSM International and the Manchester Football Association will present a football coaching course starting on January 11.

The course will end January 13 and will be focus on developing the youth football coach. The course is appropriate for coaching youth soccer from ages seven through to 14.

According to Paul Banta, USSF National Coaches president, this is part one series of a two-part certification programme for developing youth players.

The course is financed by GSM International and no fee will be charged. Those interested in the course should email pbanta@sc.rr.com or call Peter Lee at 399-4086.

# Sangster, Holness score centuries

Damion Sangster and Dwayne Holness scored centuries in the latest round of matches from the NCB Southeast St. Elizabeth knockout cricket competition last weekend.

In the Chocolate Hole/Morningside match, Sangster scored 172 to helped Chocolate to 343 for six in 30 overs. Howard Powell supported with 66 against Ian Bents' 3-57.

Morningside, in reply, made 120 in 9.3 overs. Gary Graham hit 81.

Holness scored 117 not out in Comma Pen's innings of 401 for five in 30 overs. Shane Powell got 52 and Troy Powell 52. Radcliff Powell took 2-52.

Dalton were dismissed for 137 in 15.1 overs. Gary Palmer, 38, and Jason Rogers, 28, made the most runs against Algrove Johnson 7-22 and Ziggy Levy 3-1.

At Ballards Valley, the home team scored 313 all out in 29.3 overs. Yohan Daley, 73, Bruce Blackwood, 63, and Damion Bryce, 58, top-scored while Tyrone Vassell claimed 3-44.

In reply, Southside were dismissed for 182 in 22 overs. Conroy Miller got 72 while Mark Gordon 2-35, Damion Bryce 3-28 and Matterhorn Elliot 3-30 took the most wickets.

In the day's other match, Uprising made 189 all out in 32 overs with Vernon Baswell getting 54. They beat Ridge United, who were blown away for 46 in 13 overs. Uriel Samuels took 7-21 and Richard Samuels 3-12.
