Tivoli, Portmore final

Ainsley Walters, Freelance Writer

TIVOLI GARDENS rallied from a goal down at home yesterday to beat St. Georges Sports Club 3-2 to join Portmore United in the first-round final of the Cash Plus Premier League.

Jermaine Taylor cancelled Damion Harwood's 27th-minute strike five minutes after the break, before Roberto Fletcher made it 2-1 two minutes later.

Christopher Jackson's 63rd-minute free kick sent club president Edward Seaga leaping from his chair at the sidelines as the shot all but wrapped up the game for Tivoli, who moved to 18 points, beating out a horde of teams in the final match of the round.

Substitute Richardo Watson pulled a goal back for the Premier League first timers two minutes before the final whistle, giving their travelling supporters a glimmer of hope, but three minutes of time added wasn't enough for an equaliser.

Tivoli Gardens will face league leaders Portmore United in next Sunday's first round final.

Portmore moved to 24 points with a 2-1 win against Reno at Ferdie Neita Park. Tivoli are next on 18, followed by Harbour View and Waterhouse on 16, as the Drewsland team beat August Town 3-1 at Waterhouse Mini Stadium.

Daniel Shaw opened the scoring in the seventh minute for August Town against Waterhouse, but Damion Williams equalised two minutes later before Andre Hickling and Kevin Lamey added goals in the 35th and 78th minutes respectively.

Fabian Taylor got Harbour View's equaliser six minutes from time in their 1-1 draw at Arnett Gardens.
