# Ken's Wildflower, Portsmouth showdown

Ken's Wildflower and Portsmouth CC renew their rivalry in the Petcom Portmore Metropolitan Cricket League at the Portsmouth Cricket ground tomorrow.

The Ken's-Portsmouth match is one of four games on in the league.

In other games, defending champions Waterford CC and Hamilton Gardens do battle at Hamilton Gardens, Reid's Pen take on Washington CC at the Bridgeport sports ground and Belmont Park play MegaMart developmental squad. All games begin at 11:00 a.m

League president Charles Simpson said that all games were called off last week due to the unavailability of umpires but he is confident, without any further delay, the league will finish by Sunday, December 16.

# Prep school football quarter-finals

The quarter-finals of the Bigga/Jamaica Independent Schools Association (JISA) Henriques Cup knockout will be played this afternoon at the University of Technology (UTech) and the University of the West Indies (UWI) playing fields, respectively.

At UTech, Portmore Missionary take on Our Lady of the Angels at midday while Quest face St. Hugh's at 1:15 p.m.

Over at the UWI playing field, defending champions Hydel meet Vaz at 1:15 p.m., while Mona battle St. Andrew Prep.

Meanwhile, the second set of second-round games in the Alberga Cup begin on Monday with six matches.

Four games will be played at the UWI playing field beginning at midday:

Mona tackle on Lanaman's, Quest oppose Hydel, St. Hugh's battle St. Andrew and Hillel square off with St. Catherine.

Two games will be played at UTech, Vaz will take on Belair at noon and Our Lady of the Angels will oppose Covenant.

# Westchester tipped for netball crown

Westchester Netball Club will start favourites to win a second title of the season when they battle arch-rivals Ken's Wildflower in the final of the Portmore Netball Association Senior League at Ascot High School tomorrow. Tip-off time 4:00 p.m.

Westchester earlier in the season won the Open League, beating Ken's Wildflower 22-17 in that final. They also defeated Ken's a second time in league play by a point (29-28), giving them a psychological advantage.

Westchester's chances of victory lie in the hands of their veteran shooter Marcella Thompson. Thompson will get support from goalshooter Sharnette Walker, formerly of Braeton United and Camille Turner, among others.

On the other hand, Ken's will bank on twin sisters Dian Black (goalshoot) and Deon Black (wing attack) and inspirational centre Shaniece Willis.

Meanwhile, Hellshire United and Westchester will play off for third at the same venue at 3:00 p.m.

# Dallas thrash Brandon Hill

Open rally champions Dallas maintained their unbeaten run with a massive 42-2 win over Brandon Hill in Senior League action as the INSPORTS-sponsored Kingston and St. Andrew Junior High School Girls Netball Competition continued at the Leila Robinson Courts on Wednesday.

St. Thomas-based Dallas wasted no time in brushing aside their opponents as they rushed to an 11-0 first-quarter lead and extended that to 20-1 at half-time.

Meanwhile, defending Senior League champions Mico Practising also remained unbeaten with a 32-11 win over Gordon Town. The winners, who led in all four quarters, were up 16-5 at half-time. They have emerged top of Zone Two and have booked a place in the quarter-final knockout round.

In other results, Seaward 26 Castleton 7, Boys' Town 18 Cockburn Gardens 7, Calabar 17 Shortwood Practising 0, Central Branch 15 Constant Spring 13, Red Hills 28 Cedar Valley 1, Gordon Town 13 Norman Gardens 11.

# Cari-Med announces sponsorship for UTech

Cari-Med announced on Tuesday its sponsorship of University of Technology (UTech) male football and female netball teams through its brands, Ensure and Wellwoman Multi-Vitamins ,respectively.

The announcement was made at a news conference at the Lillian's Restaurant located at the UTech campus.

The sponsorship will include the adoption of the teams and the underwriting of the costs of their uniforms, the donation of nutritional and body care products for the athletes and coaches as well as seminars for the athletes and coaches.

The sponsorship, which begins this school year, will run for three years, after which it will be reviewed. This represents Cari-Med's first foray into sports sponsorship at UTech.

Anthony Davis, head of the Sports Department at UTech, welcomed the sponsorship while country manager at Cari-Med, Claude Braithwaite, said it was the start of a fruitful relationship for the two organisations. The sponsorship is valued at $400,000 for the first year.
