THE FOUR-PERSON team captained by European Seniors' professional Jay Dolan III of the U.S. took the top prize in the first of two Pro-Am tournaments which precede the Digicel Jamaica Classic that gets under way at the Half Moon Golf Club on tomorrow.

With a net score of 58.1, Dolan's team of Samantha Durnian, Carolyn Slatter and Tony Lowrie won, ultimately, with a better first hole score over the team led by Luis Carbonetti of Argentina which also carded a net score of 58.1.

Carbonetti's team included Patrick Scott, Mitchie Bell and Gordon Hutchinson.

In third place, with a net a score 58.6, was the team led by the US's Bob Lendzion that included Clive Chambers, Ines Valencia and Guillermo Valencia.

In his acceptance speech, Dolan said he had been coming to Jamaica since 1962.

"I have never had a bad moment in this beautiful country," Dolan said.

Dolan, 65, is the oldest member of the European Seniors Tour and became the oldest golfer in history to earn a full card at the European Seniors Tour Qualifying School when he claimed seventh place at the 2003 School.

Prizes were presented by Michael Petch, Tournament Co-ordinator of the European Seniors Tour.

Today, the second Pro-Am of the Digicel Jamaica Classic gets under way at the Half Moon Golf Course with Jamaica's Delroy Cambridge teeing off with his team of amateurs at 11:40 a.m.
