Caribbean Classic off to a successful start
DEFENDING CHAMPIONS CARIBBEAN Classic made a successful start in the 2005/2006 Portmore/St. Catherine domino league last Sunday when they defeated Seamaster 300-262 in a home match at Portmore Lane.
The Cup holders were always in control and in the end won by 38 points, serving notice to all and sundry that they will be hard to beat for the Division One title once again.
Meanwhile, last year's beaten finalists Forte International also made a winning start by dismissing newcomers Angels All-Stars 300-281 in a home match at Passagefort.
Results of other opening round matches are as follows: St. Joseph beat Correctional Services 300-297 in an exciting countdown at Old Braeton, Eradication crushed Masterpiece 300-243 in a home match at Gregory Park, Lime Tree defeated Ken's Wildflower 300-254 in an away match, Marleymount stopped Eagle View 300-294 in a countdown, Frazer's Whip whipped newcomers H.Q. International 300-279, Black Rooster beat JUTC 300-290, Hurricane defeated Mighty Destroyer 300-264 in a home match at Dunbeholden, Old Harbour crushed Galaxy 300-233, Night Shift beat last season's Division Two champions Right Stuff and ISCF clipped Gold Club 300-297 in an exciting countdown. |
