BY ORVILLE CLARKE, STAR Writer

THE SEMI-FINALS of the inaugural Track Price Plus Nine-a-Side Elite skittles competition takes place tomorrow at Hughenden Plaza without the participation of the two Portmore-based teams, Meadowvale and The Dip. Match time is 2:00 p.m.

Zone 'A' winners Track Price Plus will oppose Cherry's Strikers while in the semi-final, Rowe's Strikers, runners-up in Zone 'A', take on Eastern All-Stars who topped Zone 'B'. The draw to see who plays first will take place minutes before 2:00 p.m.

The winners will meet in the final on the following Sunday at Track Price Plus Skittles Club, 61a Molynes Road.

Last Sunday at Track Price Plus, Eastern All-Stars crushed their East Kingston counterparts Dragon 8-1 to top Zone 'B' with 84 points, two ahead of Cherry's Strikers.

In the other final round fixture, Galaxy handed Waltham Strikers their sixth straight defeat, clipping them 5-4 in a match of academic interest only.

The teams will play nine matches, comprising five singles, two doubles, one mixed double and a ladies match.

Top players for Track Price Plus are former singles champions Leslie 'Toothpick' Puranda, Charles Service and Jonathan Kerr along with Tony Reid and female player Kareen Donaldson.

Cherry's will look mainly to former singles champion Robert McKen, Dane Jones, Emmanuel Munda, B. Kelly and R 'Niah' Mullings to keep Track Price in check.

Rowe's Strikers will look to top players Winston 'Wimpy' Lyew, Karyl 'Chassy' Walker, Clinton 'Fly Up' Thompson., Garfield 'Milligram' Samuels and Donovan Ashman to put the brakes on highly touted Eastern, whose star players include former singles champions Keith Barrett and Hubert Fletcher, along with Sidney Corrington, Fitzroy 'Paul' Blair, Nehemiah 'Fatta' Henry and Richard Mohammed.
