THE SECOND day of Carib Cement 2005 Constant Spring Squash Open ended with few surprises as all the top seeds found themselves in the round of 16 that was scheduled to begin last night.

In the men's Open section, No. 1 seed Wayne Burrowes had no trouble getting by Douglas Beckford 9-4, 9-6, 9-1.

Dane Schwier was the recipient of a walkover, as Martin Lewis failed to turn up for their game. Joey Levy was also a winner as he, like Burrowes, was a straight sets winner, 9-1, 9-0, 9-0, over Patrick Lewis.

CLOSEST GAME FOR CHIN

Bruce Burrowes didn't fare as well as Wayne as he went out in consecutive sets 9-2, 9-4, 9-4, to Bruce Bicknell, who is the No. 2 seed in the competition.

Tommy Lee was impressive in his victory over Dave Cameron. Lee only lost three points in his three sets, with two coming at love.

The No. 8 seeded Patrick Chin had the closest game of the seeds as he had to fight off two close sets to come out a 9-7, 9-6, 9-2 victor over Craig Mair.

In another Open game, Rod Simms got the better of Kevin Jones 9-2, 9-4, 9-1.
