Tank-Weld copped the major prizes at Friday evenings Jamaica Electrical Technologies (JET) Business House domino presentation function at the Knutsford Court Hotel, New Kingston.

Tank-Weld swept the awards in three categories Division One champions, KO champions and champion of champions.

Other trophies and awards went to Port Authority (Division Two champions), Seprod (Division One runners-up), Berger (Division Two runners-up), NCB (most disciplined team and most improved team), Jamaica Brandy (Division One third-place award), NCB (Division Two third-place award) and Port Authority (team consistently topping 150 points).

Also receiving awards were Tank-Welds Marvin Osbourne (outstanding captain), The Gleaner (uniform parade winners), Paul Alexander (most supportive company manager), Seprods Brian Rose (best team manager for Division One) and Bergers Marie Lloyd (best team manager for Division Two).

Calman Barrett, CEO of JET, congratulated the organisers for another successful Business House competition and pledged his companys continued support next year. He also said he would like to see the competition move from Kingston and St Andrew and expand to rural areas.

H.P. Hopwood,G4S are champions

H.P. Hopwood and G4S won the Division One and Two titles, respectively, following the Business House three-on-three basketball finals on Friday at the Stadium Courts.

H.P. Hopwood defeated MegaMart 2-0 in the best-of-three finals while G4S stopped Cable Pros 2-0 as well.

Domino conference

The National Associaton of Domino Bodies (NADB) holds its first all-island delegates comference at Jacisera Park this morning starting at 10.

Meanwhile, a Jamaica Inviational team will take on the United States and Canada in a triangular domino tournament today at the JPS Sports Club, Ruthven Road, starting at 6 p.m.

Scotia unbeaten in five-a-side league

Geon Contractors and Jamaica Broilers will contest Saturdays Division One final in the Tank-Weld/Ciclon-sponsored Business House five-a-side football league following semi-final wins on Thursday at the NWC playing field, Mona.

Geon Contractors beat defending champions Tank-Weld Metals 2-1, thanks to a double strike from Mario McDonald, while Jamaica Broilers slammed G4S 4-0 with David Lewis getting a brace.

In Division Two, Scotia Bank extended their unbeaten run to 21 wins this season with a 5-1 victory over Blue Cross to advance to the final where they will meet Courts Distribution, who got by Cable Pro 4-3 on penalty kicks after both teams were deadlocked at 2-2 after regulation and extra time.

In Scotia Banks win, Richard West scored a hat-trick, while Donovan Hibbert netted two.

Locksley Thompson scored twice for Courts Distributors to be the leading scorer in Division Two with 24 goals, while Jermaine Taylor and a defender got the goals for Cable Pro before penalty kicks decided the outcome.

Both finals will be played at the NWC playing field starting at 2:30 p.m.

General Accident, Scotia A for final

Defending champions General Accident and arch-rivals Scotia A will meet in the Business House Netball Association/Locker Room Super League final on Saturday following impressive semi-final wins.

Scotia A trounced Jamaica Broilers 80-20 in the first semi-final at the Leila Robinson Courts last Tuesday.

On Thursday, it was General Accidents turn to qualify for the final, whipping JCF A 66-20 in the second semi. It should be an intriguing final between the two, as both teams hold a victory over each other this season.

Meanwhile, NWC and the ATL Group will meet in the Intermediate A final following semi-final wins over Cable & Wireless and the ICD Group, respectively, on Thursday.

NWC beat C&W 28-19, while the ATL Group clipped the ICD Group 36-34.

Guardian Life and NEM Insurance Company will meet in the Intermediate B final. On Thursday, Guardian Life clipped NCB A 26-24 to advance, while NEM defeated Sagicor 23-17.

In the Senior B League, Scotia Bank B and RBTT will contest the final following semi-final wins over JPS (43-38) and HEART Trust/NTA (39-37), respectively.

Broilers vs Digicelin KO cricket

High-riding Jamaica Broilers will today oppose Digicel in the semi-final of the Best Dressed Chicken Business House 30-over cricket competition at Jamaica Broilers, Spring Village, St. Catherine, starting at noon.

In the only other match scheduled, Jamalco are at home to Cable and Wireless in a Digicel 20/20 KO semi-final, also at noon.

Meanwhile, the big 50-over clash between arch-rivals Cable & Wireless and Digicel, which should have been played at Chalmers Avenue last Sunday, had to be postponed owing to bad weather. It has been rescheduled for early next month.
