Eriksson: We have much respect for Jamaica

Sven-Goran Eriksson isn't nervous ... yet.

The Mexican coach faces a desperate Jamaican squad that has been overhauled and will be looking to keep their World Cup qualifying campaign alive with a win tonight. Worst for Eriksson, his team will be playing at Jamaica's 'Azteca'.

"I'm not that kind of guy who is nervous (now) not today, I will be when it's time for kick off," Eriksson said after a training session yesterday.

The Swede admitted that the major changes to Jamaica's squad - eight new players - will make it tricky for him to prepare for tonight's seven o' clock clash.

Eriksson guided Mexico to a 3-0 win in the first leg match on September 6 at the Azteca Stadium but pointed out that he cannot base his pre-game plan on the players that were in Mexico City.

"We know much about them from how they played the last time in Mexico," Eriksson said. "But now it is almost impossible to know what to expect tomorrow because it's a new coach, so I really don't know how they're going to play, what line up they will have, which system they're going to use."

Jamaica are at the bottom of the group with one point from three games following losses to Mexico and Honduras and a draw with Canada. Eriksson said no matter the players Jamaica field, Mexico must play true to form.

"We have much respect for Jamaica but the most important thing is we do our job and we play good football - defending well, attacking well and do everything to win."
