Born To Dance fancied

Orville Clarke, Gleaner Writer

With the fancied horses holding their own at Caymanas Park on Wednesday, both the Pick-9 and Super-6 start anew tomorrow.

All nine races embrace the Pick-9, which offers the guaranteed minimum of $1 million, while the Super-6 from the third to the eighth, has $500,000.

We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with a $180,000 claiming race to be contested by nine starters over 1400 metres.

The horses to note are the down-in-class MEDICAL ACCOUNT, recent winner CONCORDE, MOON DANCER, who has been knocking at the door and, of course, HOME TOWN GIRL, the lone three-year-old in the line-up.

To be ridden by champion jockey Omar Walker for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta, HOME TOWN GIRL, who is apparently slumming, is basically better than this level and she thus gets the nod over MEDICAL ACCOUNT, who is not too heavy with 57.0kg to fight out the finish at this level.

Turn the tables

ISLA, who finished a close third to the front-running UNBRIDLED JOY on August 6, is weighted to turn the tables on her old rival in the fourth race over 1100 metres, which promises keen competition among the nine horses declared.

In addition to the above-mentioned pair, others such as ROYAL MAJESTY and recent winners, RIGGED TO WIN and POWERFUL PROSPECT, should be brought into the reckoning with such rich form present.

Competitive race

Another competitive-looking race is the fifth to be contested by eight three-year-olds over the straight five course.

Recent course winner GAMBOA will again prove a tough opponent with Shane Ellis again in the saddle, but the speed of I'M MAGIC means she will have to be caught under in-form jockey Dane Nelson. LADY LIZ and GOOD HOPE (Walker up) should help to complicate matters further.

BORN TO DANCE, an unlucky loser over the course last time out, should make amends at the expense of stable companions CHRISTMAS TREAT and RUN SMILE RUN in the sixth, again over the straight, while FELICIDAD (aimed too low) and BORN FIGHTER (knocking at the door), in the seventh and eighth races, respectively, are the other firm Super-6 fancies.
