CHAMPION JOCKEY Omar Walker continued his relentless march towards a second title in a row with another three wins at Caymanas Park yesterday.

Walker, who began the day on 73 winners, moved to 76 following his third consecutive three-timer. Yesterday's tally moved him 19 clear of second-place Shane Ellis, who failed to ride a winner on the 10-race mid-week card.

Veteran jockey

Veteran jockey Oneil Mullings also rode three winners including LE CHIC at 11-1 in the sixth race. He also won aboard WINNING MESSAGE at 6-5 in the second and the 3-2 favourite DOUBLE BOW in race four.

The champion jockey's wins included DOLLA WIN, who captured the feature Dr Clifford Grey Memorial Cup over 1,300 metres for maiden three-year-olds.

Sent off the 2-1 second favourite, DOLLA WIN raced prominently for the first 900 metres before he was sent clear by Walker at the top of the straight. DOLLA WIN hit the post five lengths clear of a running on ROYAL DREAMER. Big 6-5 favourite FLORENCE, ridden by Trevor Simpson, was outpaced throughout and finished a well-beaten fifth.

Other winners

Walker's two other winners were RACING MACHINE at 2-5 in the first and 6-1 outsider SECRET HIDEAWAY in the fifth.

With several mild upsets, the popular Pick-9 eluded punters for 13 race days in a row. It started the day at $16.15 million and now has a carryover of $19,073,743.50 to Saturday's racing.

Two punters picked eight of nine yesterday and received $416,500.50. Thirty-two with seven of nine collected $13,015.50

Despite the upsets in races five, six and seven, punters were able to nab the Pick-6. Five with six of six collected $714,916.50 each. There was a carryover of $1,275,357 to yesterday's race meet.

In addition to SECRET HIDEAWAY and LE CHIC the unfancied BONNIE'S VICTORY at 8-1 held on gamely in the final 50m to hold favourite I AM PAID FOR at bay in the seventh race over 1,820m.

Complete double

With second favourite LATIN KING having equipment problems after racing prominently, BONNIE'S VICTORY took charge 600m out and had just enough left to thwart the fast-finishing I AM PAID FOR by a neck.

The winner was ridden by Paul Francis who later completed a double aboard PRINCESS SHEILA for trainer Everal Francis and owners the Doks Stable in the ninth.
