JDF shine in Business House volleyball

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) continued their impressive run in the Reggae Jammin Business House Volleyball competition on Sunday.

The JDF whipped the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) 2-0 in week four of men's action at the University of West Indies (UWI) court.

The marching men came away 21-10, 21-14 winners thanks to the in form Delano Wishart. He was supported by Nakia Rose who had an impressive seven kills to finish off the bus company.

In the other male match of the day, Edna Manley College were also 2-0 winners over American Equipment Company (AMECO). Dwayne Black delivered five kills and George Douglas, three, to give the visual arts institution the match 21-16, 21-19.

Edna Manley made it two from two on the day when their mixed team blanked the National Water Commission (NWC) 2-0.

No-nonsense moods

Their victory was set up by Douglas and Black who were once again in no-nonsense moods with Douglas' seven kills, and Black's five kills and a block. Edna Manley won 21-7, 21-16.

The final mixed game of the day saw Bank of Jamaica (BoJ) thrashing NWC 21-16, 21-11 for a 2-0 win. Graig Stewart was BoJ's inspirational leader with six kills, while Annissa Benjamin supported with her two aces.

The competition which is sponsored by Reggae Jammin Foods, Supreme Ventures and Gatorade, among others, ends next Sunday, June 29 with the final set of matches and the closing ceremony.
