At Tuesday night's Jamaica Race Driver's Club (JRDC) annual general meeting, he was re-elected unopposed as president at the meeting which was held at the Liguanea Club, New Kingston.

The other members of the JRDC council are: vice-president Captain Marck Carey, secretary David Summerbell, treasurer Raymond Webb, while the directors are Lisa Bowman-Lee, Peter Rae, Richard Martin, William Worton and Monique Gibbs.

Big occasion

With less than a month remaining for the staging of the Caribbean Champion Drivers series, the JRDC now has the task of getting things ready for the big occasion.

In the meantime, Jamaica's rally driver, Bobby Marshall, returned to the island on Monday, having placed first in Class 2-4 and an amazing third overall in Rally Preysal Bites Again in the twin-island republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Clean sweep

Driving his Motor Sales & Service Ltd/Singer/TGI Fridays/Ocean Spray/PPG Mitsubishi Mirage RS (which he has actually sold in the oil rich Caribbean state), Marshall and Trinidadian co-driver Annan Wohi completed the 22 miles of the four Zig Zag and four Snake special stages behind winners Ainsley Lochan in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 and Rezan Mohammed in a Mitsubishi Colt, completing a clean sweep of the podium for the Diamond Star brand.

Another Jamaican, Kyle Gregg, recently won the Florida go-kart championship. Gregg, who was attending school in Canada, was a surprise winner at the Red Bull go-kart championship in New Kingston, more than a year ago.
